This month I did something I never thought I would do, and all in the name of Public Relations!
As you can see from the photo, I had to hit a ball off a mat from the front deck of a luxury yacht, onto the 15th green of The Carrick at Loch Lomond. What the organisers didn't mention (and of course had no control over) was that if weather wasn't great the yacht would be bobbing up and down a lot.
It was hard enough to hit the shot from a sloping lie but when the sloping lie was moving up and down and side to side I think I did well not to chunk it into the water! I was joined on deck by Clare Queen and we formed Team Scotland. We played against Team Sweden (Johanna Westerberg, and defending Scottish Open Champion, Sophie Gustafson). I am delighted to say that Team Scotland won, 3 points to 1. It was such a laugh, we were all in stitches watching each other trying to hit shots from the moving mat. We were taking bets as to who would be the first to fall in the water - nobody had a bet on the one who did fall in though...
